As students transition into our Middle School, we focus on a range of learning experiences that assist them to grow in confidence and competence, in both the NESA-endorsed curriculum and in understanding God's creation.
Students in Stage 4 complete all NESA-mandated requirements including the study of language, art, music and the different strands of technologies.
Skills with digital technologies and the safe use of the internet are foundational to helping our young people adjust to 21st century lives as digital natives. Technology and Information Communication Technologies play a pivotal role in the delivery of curriculum as we work with parents to teach students to be proficient and and wise stewards of the world.
In Stage 5, students begin their elective subjects, exploring and enjoying God's creation in areas guided by their own interests, passions and giftings. Elective subjects come from a variety of strands and aim to engage students in learning experiences that inspire and encourage engagement in student-centred learning.
Elective subjects currently offered in Stage 5 include:
In Year 10 our students also engage in our Work Experience program, which helps them to gain a rich experience of working life to assist with career choice and patterns of tertiary study.

It is our goal at CCS to develop a curriculum pattern that reflects both students' interests and the range of vocational and ATAR pathways that students wish to pursue. Whilst we cannot offer all subjects, students can also pursue study via Distance Education (through Finigan School of Distance Education) and through external RTOs such as TAFE.
It is our goal that our students should leave CCS as curious and discerning, life-long learners, who can contribute meaningfully to the life of the Kingdom and broader society as a whole.
We’re a growing school for a new and growing community.
We run regular tours and open days for parents and students to have a taste of life at Calderwood. We’d love to welcome you to one of them soon!
