A love of Drama is cultivated by both the junior and senior areas of our school.
Students in the Junior School benefit from experiences that challenge them to work collaboratively and imaginative with others. Drama, along with Music, Dance and Visual Arts forms a key component of our Junior School Creative Arts program.
Bi-annually, students K-6 are delighted to present to the school community a Christmas musical. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our students' God-given gifts and talents and to glorify God through creative expression.
In Stages 5 and 6, Drama offers a unique opportunity for students to learn to express themselves through their voice and body. It helps them gain confidence in expressing themselves in front of others through individual and group performance. Studying Drama also equips students with further creative and analytical skills that they will use in their other subjects and in all of life.
Students are equipped with skills in movement, voice, improvisation, and scripted drama.
Visual Arts education at Calderwood empowers students to understand how they are made in the image of a Creator and creative God. Students are encouraged to explore their own creativity as they delight in the creation God has made and provided for us with as inspiration for all artmaking. This gift is celebrated by:
